A seismic cultural shift is currently underway in the United States, changing from a design-build mentality, to one that maximizes capacity, safety and reliability through Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) using technology, data and information-based strategies. NOCoE, we’re providing Transportations Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) workforce products and services to prepare existing and next generation practitioners to meet the needs of a 21st century transportation system.
For the first time, researchers have compiled a comprehensive guidebook on professional TSMO workforce needs. This three hour workshop will discuss specific job positions required for a robust TSMO program, the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for those job positions, and recommendations tailored to hiring each position. Information on training and professional development will be presented, including specifics on training providers and the discussion of courses that aim to engage agencies around recruiting and retention techniques for their TSMO workforce.
